EndNote users, did you know you can import PubMed citations directly into EndNote? (Note: you have to be using Mozilla Firefox as your browser in order to import directly)
- Go to PubMed, run your search, and check each citation you want to send to EndNote.
- In the upper right, click on “Send to” and then choose File
- In the section which opens up, choose Format – Medline and then click on create file
- In the pop up window, choose Open with “Other”
- In the next pop up window, choose EndNote and click ok
- Click OK
- EndNote should open and begin importing
- In the “choose an import filter” window, select PubMed (NLM) and click Choose
- Your references will be available in EndNote (note that the journal title is imported as the PubMed journal abbreviation. If you are using a style which requires the full journal title in the citation, you will need to open the reference and change the abbreviated title to the full title)
